"The reason I have chosen a career in the F&B field is because I
love doing it and my passion is truly in this area. After graduating
from DCT with an Advanced Diploma as well as certificates in European
Culinary Arts, I first opened a Taiwanese Bubble Tea drinks outlet.
This first business experience taught me a lot: even though I had my
DCT education and Swiss work experience to call upon, everything looks quite different once you are running
your own business with your own money!
Over time, the results of all of this work show up in
our profitability, which in turn allowed me to open a
larger-sized Chinatown restaurant that I managed by myself
completely. This second restaurant really took 1000% of
my attention, but it has lead to my being able to open
three more restaurants more easily, each with a different
cuisine and with a different concept, but all with the
same management team.
If I were to offer some advice to those just deciding
on their career direction, I think that the best thing
to do in life, is to do what you love. If your love is
in the hospitality or culinary fields, then you must go
to DCT! And don’t just study hard, but be sure to
enjoy your time there with all of the social activities
and chances to make friends from around the globe. Take
advantage of the great location and travel opportunities.
Get the most out of your Paid Swiss Work Experience. Between
your courses, your non-academic life, and your practical
training, your time in Switzerland will go quickly so
be sure that you get the most from all of it!"
